Vintage Peter Dumler 23" 1.5L Stein. This stein was designed in the early days of Peter Dumler's company. From approximately 1885, this is a very intricate designed stein in Renaissance style. Marked 52 on bottom. The lid is no longer available. The design is after Siegburg Schnelle style stoneware. Central to the design is a warrior, above him arms with two headed eagle a symbol rich in history of the Holy Roman Empire. Below the warrior is a coat of arms design after the House of Habsburg, also known as House of Austria, one of the most important royal families in Europe from 1438 to 1740. The House of Habsburg was also known as one of the most powerful dynasties in the history of Europe. If you look through the photos you will see the very intricate design, and that the colors are still vibrant. The owner has passed and we are clearing out his collection of various steins.
