Description:
Up for sale is a classic piece of master-tier American pocket cutlery history: a vintage Queen Cutlery Model #48 Swell Center Splitback Whittler pocket knife. This highly regarded traditional pattern features a "swelled center" handle profile with a dual backspring construction. The master clip point blade bears on both springs with a double-wide tang, while the smaller pen and coping blades bear on individual springs. It features an expertly tapered brass center liner assembly to provide incredible structural strength and prevent blade rub. Finished in beautiful amber-toned jigged winterbottom bone scales and solid nickel silver end caps.
Condition Notes:
Please look closely at the provided high-resolution photos to evaluate the condition details of this vintage tool. The knife is in honest, pre-owned user condition. Blades display significant historical sharpening wear, stone scratch lines, and standard pocket tarnish, but remain sharp. The jigged bone handle scales are securely pinned. Backsprings show pocket wear rub marks but retain robust walk-and-talk snap action. Shipped securely via USPS Ground Advantage.
