Gorgeous restored WADE & BUTCHER - IMPROVED TANG straight razor. Razor has been cleaned, polished, honed and waxed and is shave ready. Blade is very nice, butt does have some residual spotting and surface scratches on both sides of blade. See pics for more details. Light hone wear. I used one pieces of tape on spine when honing.
Blade width at widest point measures just under 5/8ths.Razor length is 6 5/8ths inches.Grind is approximately a 3/4 hollow.Jimps on top and bottom side of shank.
Front of shank is stamped WADE & BUTCHER - SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND. Back side is stamped - CURLEY, N.Y. (This was a retailer in NYC that sold these razors). Front side of blade is etched - EXTRA HOLLOW GROUND.
Very long tail on this razor is stamped - IMPROVED TANG.
Scales are gorgeous vintage natural material. Scales were dis-assembled, cleaned, polished and waxed. Pins are nickel silver. Pins are tight and blade closes fine.Blade is shave ready. Very nice shaver. Finished on a vintage Thuringian hone with one layer of tape on spine.
