Vintage United States Marine Corps keychain with attached P-38 military C-ration can opener.
The metal key fob features the traditional United States Marine Corps seal with the Eagle, Globe & Anchor emblem on a red field.
Attached to the key ring is the famous folding P-38 military ration can opener, a compact tool developed during World War II and widely associated with U.S. military canned field rations.
The P-38 has a partially surviving marking. \"U.S.\" remains readable, while the remainder has been worn away through age and use.
Because the complete manufacturer marking and any possible date are no longer legible, the P-38 is not being attributed to a specific manufacturer or wartime period.

The combination makes an interesting piece of Marine Corps memorabilia, particularly because P-38 openers were commonly carried by servicemen on key rings and dog tag chains.
The pieces show genuine use and age, including surface scratches, finish wear, tarnish and wear to the P-38 marking.
Please see all photographs for exact condition, construction and surviving markings.
