Step back in time with this delightful vintage comic postcard, a classic example of humor from the mid-20th century. Illustrated by the renowned Walt Munson, this piece captures a lighthearted, boozy scene in a restaurant. The vivid imagery depicts two revelers comically collapsed under a table, while a waiter continues to serve drinks and another patron looks on in amusement. The bold captions "BOTTOMS UP!" and "HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU FROM UNDER THE TABLE" perfectly encapsulate the playful spirit of the era.
This collectible postcard, likely a linen type given its texture and printing style, showcases the popular "Drinkers Comics" series. It offers a glimpse into social humor surrounding drinking culture, a common theme in postcards from the post-Prohibition era. The vibrant colors and distinct artistic style of Walt Munson make this a unique piece for collectors of vintage ephemera, comic art, or those with an appreciation for historical Americana and humorous illustrations.
