WW2 US air force sector clock, time zone tracking of enemy air craft, restoration: $385.00
Seth Thomas WW2 us air force sector clock , used in the air force control rooms for tracking enemy air craft , the colored sectors on the dial signified the location of approaching aircraft so they could be tracked as to when they would reach targets on bombing missions , each colored sector would have had radio out posts which reported back when the air craft passed over that zone, and in time to allow people to be warned to take shelter from an incoming attack , in a time before radar . historical clock. , its in good original condition but is sold as a restoration clock non running , i believe it has a broken pivot at the balance wheel , it will only run when laid flat , also missing its sweeps seconds hand . the briskish RAF royal air force had similar clock larger with 14 " dials with same colored zone. interesting historical clock. it measures 10 1/4 " dia. at front bezel , dial is 8 1/2 " dia. , see my many clock parts etc. for sale combined shipping
