"Little Boy" Atomic Bomb L-11 in Enola Gay Bomb Bay
This is a nice reproduction of an original World War Two photo showing the A-Bomb code named "Little Boy" that was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945, in the special pit being loaded onto the B-29 Superfortress that delivered it, the Enola Gay.This photo is of L-11, the actual bomb used in the attack, not a inert bomb used for practice loading. Great photo!
"Little Boy" was the code name for the type of nuclear bomb dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on 6 August 1945 during World War II. It was the first nuclear weapon used in warfare.
