Original WWI-era U.S. Army M1911 campaign hat in olive drab felt with the Montana-peak crease and metal ventilation eyelets. The leather sweatband is stamped: \"HATS, SERVICE, O.D. — PAUL B. HENDEL CO. — SPEC. 8-21 — PHILA. Q.M. DEPOT\" (a Philadelphia Quartermaster contract hat). Paper size tag reads 7. Brim measures about 14 inches across (see the tape-measure photo).
CONDITION DISCLOSURES: The felt is clean and holds its shape well. The leather sweatband is dry, cracked and flaking in places (see photos). No chin strap and no hat cord are included.
