Wonderful collection of 10 vintage GATB Lancy Smith wood-carved Santa figures, individually hand-carved and painted during the 1990s. Each Santa is signed by the artist on the back.
Every figure has its own distinctive personality and theme, with charming carved details that include a lion, trout, loon, parrot, bluebird, dog, rabbit, snowman, gifts and other woodland or holiday elements. The collection features traditional folk-art colors of red, evergreen, cream, gray and blue, along with the wonderfully rustic texture and visible carving marks characteristic of handmade pieces.
These collectible Santas display beautifully together and would make a striking addition to a primitive, country, Americana or Christmas folk-art collection.
