Offered for sale is an original c1910 Princeton University tobacco leather, dating to the early era of collegiate tobacco premiums.
This large-format leather measures approximately 3.5” × 2.5” and features a striking orange and gold Princeton design.
The central image depicts an early Princeton Tiger emerging from tall grass, surrounded by detailed foliage. Large decorative PRINCETON lettering extends across the lower portion of the design.
The tiger had already become closely associated with Princeton by the time these early tobacco premiums were produced, making this an especially appealing piece of early Princeton collegiate memorabilia.
Condition: Original antique condition with age-related surface wear, light spotting, minor edge/corner wear and some surface creasing/wrinkling, particularly along the upper portion. There is some wear and unevenness to the gold-colored finish consistent with age.
Overall, the leather has excellent eye appeal, retaining strong orange coloration and a very detailed gold Tiger image. The Princeton lettering remains bold and easily readable.
No cleaning or restoration has been attempted.
Please review the photo carefully for exact condition. You will receive the exact Princeton tobacco leather pictured.
An excellent early collectible for collectors of Princeton University, Princeton Tigers, Ivy League memorabilia, antique tobacco premiums, vintage college memorabilia and early collegiate sports collectibles.
