Original1915 real photo postcard (RPPC)featuring theRandolph, New York baseball team, posed in uniform with bats, gloves, and team mascot dog. The players wear matching Deadball Era flannel uniforms with an Old English-style“R”on the chest and individually numbered fronts, an unusual and highly collectible detail for a baseball team image of this period.
The reverse is postmarked1915and addressed locally toMiss Edna Atchison of Randolph, N.Y.The back includes handwritten correspondence and a numbered roster identifying the players pictured, including names such asL. Marsh, W. France, J. Manion, Jamison, Chamberlain, Shoemaker, Stone, Wernicke, Hills, Lafayette, and others. The message notes that the recipient likely knew everyone pictured “except Stone,” suggesting he may have been an outside player or “ringer.”
A strong early baseball RPPC with excellent small-town New York association, identified roster, original postal use, and scarce numbered-uniform detail. Great piece for collectors ofDeadball Era baseball, New York town teams, Cattaraugus County history, Randolph NY memorabilia, and early sports photography.
Condition: Used antique postcard with expected age wear, handwriting, postmark, and light staining/soiling on reverse. Front image presents well with good contrast and clear team detail. Please review photos for exact condition.
