2 Model 1859 US Civil War Confederate Cavalry Horse Bit Forrest Sulphur Trestle: $199.99
Two US horse bits that were recovered at the Battle of Sulphur Trestle in Limestone County, AL in the 1970s. Notice the US bosses have been removed. These bits were either already in Confederate service or the rosettes were intentionally removed by CSA forces.
Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest was well known to use the stores of the US army. While I can’t definitively say these were used by Forrest’s troops, I can say they were held by his troops! You will receive both bits pictured!
