Original ART DECO Signed FRANKART Darling NUDE Trinket Ash Tray Circa 1922 WOW For Sale

I am absolutely thrilled to offer for your consideration, this extremely rare original FRANKART Figural trinket tray from 1922. This darling nude is so cute and coy.. she holds a pottery pin tray and has a wonderful expression.. so evocative of the new found freedom of the flapper in the 1920’s. She has her original green paint in the quintessential Vert de Nile green. The green is the rarest of the finishes. The pottery tray is old but apparently not original as it sets atop her hands rather than sitting inside the curved area of her arms. It is stabilized by a bit of museum clay. It matches beautifully and looks appropriate. This comes from a high-end art deco collection of a couple who spent their entire life curating the best of the best to display in their gorgeous home. I was very fortunate to be able to purchase a couple pieces out of their collection and will be listing them in the next few days. The tray measures approximately 9 1/2 inches high. The Figural stand is signed on the top of the base With a copyright symbol , Frankart , the model number T-301 and dated 1922. It was designed by Arthur Von Frankenburg . These nudes were referred to as “fairies”.. see photo of Frankenburg below. The condition is really great with minimal-paint loss. It is an exciting area of collecting and one that prompted me to get my Art History degree and write a thesis on the Paris exhibition in 1925.
