Marvel Comics brought X-23 / LAURA KINNEY's First Appearance as the new WOLVERINE in All-New Wolverine #1 to their TRUE BELIEVERS series in anticipation of the character's first cinematic appearance in the Fox Studios' film, Logan (2017). In Logan, the character of LAURA was brought to life by young actress Dafne Keen, for whom Logan was her own film debut.
Although Marvel's move was well-intentioned, they may have been a few years ahead of themselves. Given the character's age, Laura in Logan was not the Laura fans and collectors knew from All-New Wolverine. That was, however, six years ago.
The actress and the character have both grown up since Logan, and Keen has now been confirmed to be returning to her role in Marvel Studios' upcoming Deadpool III (2024). Given her age today, however, the Laura Kinney that Keen will portray will likely be a Variant of the character -- a Variant that is also, most likely, an ALL-NEW WOLVERINE.
