WW1 US Mess Kit Marked TUSA Co 1918 Dated Complete With Fork, Knife and Spoon
This US Mess Kit is dated 1918 on the frying pan handle. These mess kit was used by the US military during WWI. It is made of stainless steel and measures approximately 7.5" x 6.3" x 2" when folded down. This set has been gently cleaned but is in as found condition. Because it is stainless, it can be scrubbed if buyer prefers. This kit includes a frying pan, a lid with handle, a fork, a spoon and a knife. The kit bears the maker marking of TUSA Co and has a date of 1918. The pan, which also served as a bowl or plate, still snaps tight to close. The fork, spoon and knife are marked US on one side. The fork and spoon have a maker’s mark on the other side. The knife is stamped L.F. & C. 1917 and is marked with the soldier’s ID reading SGT G B H. Very cool set and genuinely a part of history.
