In his long career he was deputy for the Seine Inférieure on 4 occasions, undersecretary of State for Commerce and Colonies (1881-1882), then Undersecretary of State for the Navy (1883-1885, position he returned to in 1888 after becoming a deputy again) 
He will be Minister of the Navy (May 30, 1894), position he will hold until his election as President of the French Republic January 17, 1895
As we know...He died in the exercise of his vital functions on February 16, 1899.

Very Rare!

The relations between Félix Faure and French Gymnastics were more than close, since he created
the “La Havraise” Gymnastics Society in 1869, and himself chaired the USGF (7th president)
for one year only (as was customary at that time) in in as-described, as-found condition.
