10-16-1841 Hastings New York City Samuel Waddell Bill of Sale Receipt For Sale

Up for sale is a 5x8" bill of sale receipt from New York City to Samuel Waddell. My interpretation is Waddell is being paid to bring goods from NYC to Hastings. The sentence reads "For 1 keg of powder for Hasting (SP) Stock." This would refer to restocking the town with supplies. Samuel Wadell has signed on the front and the back and was paid $3 for his work. An interesting historical item that gives a glimpse into the world of early New York. The last image is not included, it’s an artists rendering of what Hastings NY looked like in the 1840’s.
