Up for sale is a 31 piece Historical Lot of C.1860 Handwritten Bible Verses and/or Sermons from the Pastor or Unknown Person affliliated with the First Presbyterian Church of Newburgh, NY. The church was formally incorporated and constructed it's prominent stone church building on Grand Street in 1827. The page shown in photos 5-7 features a reference to "33 years ago" as well as prominent community leaders written at the bottom of the page. Many listed were either Civic Leaders, Merchants and/or Church Leaders in Newburgh during the 1860's decade. John Edgar, Joseph McNulty, William Walsh and Dana Proudfit are several names that came up quickly in researching this church. Photos 1 & 8 show fanned out pages which total 23. Each is a single sheet folded in half to create 4 pages with written bible verses or sermons. The measurement as show will be 12 1/2" x 7 3/4".Additional papers are included which have different measurements with some being single pages and others multiple pages. The ink is quite legible overall with some writing faded. Deciphering is a task but google lens translated most of the Newburgh page that I referenced earlier. Many names were also deciphered with bios given related to Newburgh and/or the church. *Package will be weatherproof and well protected. Signature confirmation will be required for proof of delivery to ensure correct delivery of this Archival Lot. USPS will be used as well. Thank you for Visiting.
