This sale is for a1904 KEYSTONE HAND HELD MONARCH STEREOSCOPE / STEREOPTICON VIEWER / STEREOVIEW. IT DOES COME WITH 1 VIEW CARD (PREPARING TO CLIMB THE GOLDEN STAIR AND PETERSON\'S TRAIL, CHILKOOT PASS). EXCELLENT ANTIQUE PIECE.
Original, 1904 Keystone hand-held \"Monarch\" Model Stereopticon Viewer / Stereoscope in outstanding, original condition.
This very attractive, walnut and impressed and cut aluminum Stereo Viewer measures approx. 12 3/4\" overall and features an adjustable card holder and a velvet trimmed, aluminum eye shield. The optics of the Viewer are exceptional and it is both very attractive and very well preserved. The aluminum eye shield has an impressed Trade Mark featuring a bull Elk with text below that reads \"Monarch\". There is also stamped text on the bottom surface of the vertical arm that reads \"Pat\'s Apr. 12, \'04\".
This Viewer is exceptionally well made and the arm which holds the mount for the Stereo Card being viewed is adjustable so that the image can be brought into razor sharp focus regardless of the viewer\'s strength of eyesight.
This rare and exceptionally well made, Keystone Stereoscope is in excellent++ condition. The Viewer in excellent working order with just a hint of fading to the color of the velvet trim on the eyepiece but no loss or damage. The Viewer is complete with no physical damage or repairs of any kind and all of the surfaces retain their original furface finishes. The diamond cut, aluminum eyepiece retains its original, brilliant shine and the Viewer displays beautifully.
