Original 1917 photograph of the S.S. Lurline of the Matson Navigation Company.This is the earlier 1908-built Lurline, a Matson passenger-and-cargo steamship operating in Pacific service from San Francisco, decades before the better-known luxury liner of the same name.Period handwriting on the reverse identifies the vessel as “Lurline” and appears to read:“Lurline – outbound San Francisco”
