Vintage 1940s–1950 Novelty Lighter Up for sale is a highly collectible mid-century semi-automatic petrol pocket lighter cleverly shaped like a miniature pocket pistol. Produced during the post-WWII Allied occupation era (circa 1945–1952), this piece is a classic example of the whimsical tobacciana novelties crafted in Japan during this short historical window.The lighter features a sleek chrome/silver-tone metal body beautifully accented by genuine mother-of-pearl (or iridescent faux-pearl) grip panels secured on each side by two tiny flush screws. Pulling the trigger mechanism activates the flip-open top striker assembly on the slide to produce a flame.
