The Duluth, South Shore and Atlantic Railway served the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the Lake Superior shoreline of Wisconsin. It ran from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Duluth, Minnesota. It has a branch that went northward to the Keweenaw Peninsula, through to Calumet and Lake Linden. The Keweenaw Peninsula is in Upper Michigan on the south shore of Lake Superior. In 1961 the DSS&A became part of the Canadian Pacific Railway Soo Line Railroad.
This book is from an Estate Sale near Lake Linden.
The Stenglein Printing Co. operated out of Marquette, Michigan, throughout the mid-20th century.

Loose notes

The extras are inserted between pages, apparently on the relevant date. This journal looks like a personal or business ledger. It may not have been used for railroad activity.
Condition
The cover fabric is dusty and fraying at the edges. The title sticker has discoloration and marks. The spine is starting to detach, but there is probably only one loose page. There is general tanning and a few rusty paperclips.
This is a charming and interesting snapshot into mid-century affairs in the rugged isolation of the Upper Michigan region.
