HISTORICAL & LITERARY IMPORTANCEThis is a highly sought-after, rare piece of mid-century corporate and literary history. While distributed internally in General Motors auto manufacturing plants to employees during the Cold War era, this specific public health pamphlet was written by the legendary American postmodern novelist **William Gaddis** (author of *The Recognitions* and *J R*). Gaddis worked as a corporate freelance writer in New York before achieving widespread literary fame. This uncredited corporate work is heavily collected by modern literature enthusiasts, bibliographers, and academic archives, making it a spectacular crossover piece alongside GM automotive history.
