Offeredfrom my personal collection and stored for decades in a smoke-free environmentis a fantastic original 1973 Officer Big Mac hand puppet from the earlyyears of McDonald’s McDonaldland advertising. The back of the head carries theoriginal 1973McDonald Corp. / Amsco Industries / Milton Bradley marking, confirming its age and manufacturer.
OfficerBig Mac was one of the original McDonaldland characters, introduced in theearly 1970s as McDonaldland’s Chief of Police. His job was keeping order amongcharacters such as the Hamburglar and Captain Crook. His wonderfully bizarredouble-hamburger head, tiny police helmet and blue uniform made him one of themost recognizable early McDonaldland characters.
Thispuppet features a molded hamburger head with sesame-seed detailing, dimensionalfacial features and tiny blue McDonald’s police helmet. The cloth puppet bodydepicts his blue police uniform with whistle, badge, belt and Golden Archesbuckle.
Aterrific survivor from the earliest years of McDonaldland and a great piece forcollectors of vintage McDonald’s advertising, fast-food memorabilia, charactertoys and 1970s pop culture.
