256 gram (9 oz.) massive Millerite specimen with Chalcopyrite and Calcite from the McCreedy Mine, Levack Township, Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

Size approx. 9 x 8 x 2 cm (3 1/2 x 3 1/8 x 3/4 inch) as shown. It is very heavy for its size, as expected for nickel-sulfide ore. I will include at no additional charge the purple plastic one cm scale cube.

Classic Sudbury ore assemblage: brassy metallic millerite (NiS) intimately intergrown with golden chalcopyrite and silvery pentlandite/pyrrhotite in white calcite matrix. Massive habit, not the acicular needle form. Good metallic luster on both sides.

Old stock from Roger's Minerals, Val Caron, Ontario, with original label. Purchased directly from the new owner. McCreedy Mine material is increasingly scarce.

Condition as photographed, a natural mine specimen with some surface tarnish or oxidation spots.
