This is natural gold quartz, NOT simulated or synthetic (man-made) gold quartz. It comes from California, Colorado, Oregon, and Idaho.

During the 1800s, the sky seems to have been the limit for creative applications. With the involvement of a precious metal, the effect of using GQ as decorative inlay is rather elegant.
