Twofranked envelopes:
FrancesCleveland – Princeton, Jan. 16, 1930 as “Frances F. Cleveland Preston” with theaddress also in her hand. In two otherhands in pencil is a notation that the recipient was the Treasurer of the NeedleWork Guild, and in pen in the upper left someone, perhaps a postal officialwrote “widow”.
HelenTaft, postmarked April 16, 1940, with only light touching of two letters by thecancellation mark. The envelope has beenaddress in another hand and “Free” was added by someone, perhaps a postalclerk, below Taft’s frank.
GraceCoolidge – envelope, postmarked Sept 18, 1932 addressed to legendary autographcollector King Hostick, signed (not a frank) in the upper left “AutographedGrace Coolidge”. Appropriately, thestamp is the Warren Harding commemorative 1 ½ cent stamp.
