Condition Report:
Photograph & Glass: Excellent antique condition. The image remains exceptionally crisp and clear with a beautiful positive display against its dark backing plate. It lacks the heavy flaking, bubbling, or emulsion loss frequently seen on antique glass plate photos.
Brass Mat & Preserver: Beautiful aged patina with bright gilding and intricate floral/geometric embossing.
Case Interior: The deep maroon velvet padding remains vibrant, clean, and firmly seated.
Case Exterior: Outstanding antique condition. The leather/wood spine is 100% completely intact with no splitting or structural separation between the lid and tray. Only minor, expected shelf rubbing along the very tips of the corners, consistent with age. Smooth hinge action when opening and closing. Over 80% of cases from this era are split in half; finding one this structurally sound is rare.
