Up for sale is this beautifully preserved hand-carved wooden santos depicting St. Vincent Ferrer.In traditional Spanish Colonial, Philippine, and Latin American art, this Saintis almost always depicted as a Dominican friar with wingsreferencing his title as the \"Angel of the Judgment\".It likely dates from the late 18th to late 19th centuries based on the missing pegged hands, pegged head, worn polychrome, evidence of its hand-carved one solid piece of wood construction (except for pegged parts and wings) and traditional construction methods. It stands atop a carved globe and pedestal base.Condition Report:

• Hands: In keeping with its age and traditional construction, the hands are currently missing. They were originally separate pieces attached via wooden pegs, and the peg holes remain intact.
• Wings: As often found, the full wings are missing yet details show how they were attached. A piece of one wing base remains that was attached to the Santos by a nail.
• Pedestal Base: See pictures as part of the bottom base must have broke and is missing. It does not interfere with the Statue\'s integrity to stand on its own. Due in part to this missing section or the uneven bottom of the base, the Statue leans to the right.
• Paint & Surface:Heavily age-worn with extensive loss to the painted/gesso surface, cracks, chips and other losses.No restoration has been performed by the current owner.
