Stunning authentic 1920s Art Deco boudoir powder puff wand featuring a wonderfully stylized flapper girl face. The silk face is hand painted with the quintessential look of the era—fashionable bobbed hair, dramatic side-glancing eyes, rosy cheeks, and a tiny heart-shaped pout.
The round puff is finished with delicate lace trim and gold-tone edging, with an orange satin-wrapped wand handle and small gathered rosette at the end. The ribbon across her hair is marked “St. Louis,” adding another charming period detail.
An exceptional surviving example of 1920s feminine vanity and boudoir accessories. These decorative powder puff wands were designed to bring glamour to a lady’s dressing table and beautifully capture the flapper aesthetic of the Roaring Twenties.
The powder puff wand itself remains in remarkably nice condition considering its approximately 100-year age. Includes its original-style pink presentation/storage box. The box shows considerably more age and storage wear, including staining, discoloration, edge/corner wear and general deterioration as pictured.
