Antique 19thC French Sèvres Style Armorial Porcelain Trinket Box - No Damage: $550.00
For sale is an exceptional 19th-century French Sèvres-style hand-painted hard-paste porcelain trinket box. The exterior lid showcases a finely detailed heraldic coat of arms (armorial crest) featuring a gold chevron flanked by two five-pointed stars (mullets) and a wheel on an azure blue field. The central crest is set beautifully against a hand-painted gold-tooled "oeil de perdrix" (partridge-eye) dotted ground, framed by striking geometric orange and cobalt blue lattice borders. The box opens smoothly on its original cast gilt-metal hinge mounts to reveal a pristine, glassy glazed interior accented with two distinct, vibrant hand-painted floral bouquets. The dry, unglazed bottom rim features a rough, chalky texture indicative of true 19th-century hard-paste porcelain and bears a hand-painted blue underglaze interlocking 'L' monogram mark with an interior letter 'N'. 3.5x2.25
