Step back in time with this remarkable, authentic antique lock and its impressive skeleton key. Perfect for collectors of antique keys and locks, for adding a truly unique rustic or Gothic touch to your home decor, or for a very special gift.Material: Heavy, hand-forged wrought iron.Style: Spanish Colonial, Medieval, or Gothic influence.Condition: Excellent antique condition with a rich, genuine patina that only time can create. Shows authentic signs of age, including surface rust and wear, which adds to its historical charm.Dimensions: 5\" tall, 5\" wide, key is 5\" long. Please see all pictures for condition and dimensions before purchasing.Although the key is strong and operates the lock it is I\'ll advised. The tension lever for the bolt is intact but shows wear indicating a very long service history for this lock. The tension is deliberately loose to provide less stress on the key and mechanism.Overall construction is solid. The key is strong and the lock is sound. It appears the way this key was broken during its historic service life is that the tension arm that provides tension to the bolt became worn to the point where it obstructed the path of the key causing the key to jam and was broken when forced. Adjusting this tension arm could cause the same problem again. As it\'s entirely original and has not been altered. However as is it works perfectly once again. If the new owner intends to use this regularly locking it and unlocking it then a replacement key should be made rather than using the original key.
