This is a hand-woven \"Figured & Fancy\" Jacquard loom coverlet with an incredibly rare name and date corner block.Date: 1838 (Woven directly into the corner block)Name Block: Woven for Maranda AdeStyle: Early American Folk Art / Americana (Features patriotic eagles, willow trees, and large star/floral medallion field motifs)Dimensions: 84\" Long x 36\" Wide (Single panel width)Historically Accurate Colors: Woven with natural cream cotton warp and Madder Red & Indigo/Green wool weft. The green has beautifully and consistently faded over the last 188 years into a soft, highly desirable historic teal/minty hue.Condition Details:Excellent primitive antique condition. The colors remain wonderfully distinct. The self-fringe along the bottom is largely intact and stable. No major staining or structural holes.
