This is a clock made for British Airways as a promotion item for the Concorde aircraft.
The front is 925 Sterling Silver (92.5% silver plus 7.5% another metal).
The quartz clock is running and has kept good time over the last several weeks. I fitted a brand new 1.55v ( 377 ) battery in July 2026.
The clock was made by Richard Carr of Sheffield sometimes called R Carr’s.
It is an unusual and collectable piece especially for aviation or timepiece enthusiasts. The clock showcases the iconic Concorde aircraft, making it a great addition to any Concorde, British Airways or airline memorabilia collection.
Older relatives were fortunate to fly by Concorde and the clock was acquired by them either as a purchase or received as a promotional gift.
The front setting is 925 sterling silver and is hallmarked on the side with;
RC the maker’s mark
White rose - Sheffield assay office
Lion - signifies 925 silver
Letter “y” - the year of production being 1998
It has the word CONCORDE inscribed on the front with a graphic of the aircraft in flight just above.
The clock itself is separate and fits tightly inside the silver setting.
The reverse has a stand which is a solid construction covered in a velvet type material.
PLEASE NOTE There is a scuff mark of about 10mm on the silver located just above the Concorde graphic
The clock stands about 9cm tall x 6cm
