Early 1930's Prohibition Prescription for Medicinal Liquor - Quantity 1: $25.00
Up for sale are these incredibly rare 1930's pharmacy prescription issued during the prohibition period for medicinal alcohol. These were issued during a time where consumption of liquor was illegal and were issued by doctors to get around the illegality of alcohol usage at the time. These are very unique are rarely come into the public domain as the pharmacies were largely required to send these into the US Government monthly or yearly. Most never see daylight outside of government control. These were issued by the US Department of the Treasury and are printed on PINK currency type paper, numbered to track issuance. They each have two hole punches on the side from where they were stored in an RX file after it was filled. These were used to prescribe mainly whiskey which was listed on the script as either Whiskey Oi (pint), Whiskey Zxvi (pint) or Spirits Frumenti (US Pharmaceutical term for whiskey). Each scripts measures 4.5" by 5.5" and have varying degrees of legibility - some are lighter or darker than others, please see photos for representation of what you will receive. Again, the certificate paper is pink in color, the photos are taken with a phone camera so the images may appear lighter or darker than the actual item.
This sale is for ONE SINGLE, RANDOMLY CHOSEN prescription similar to what is in the photos dated between 1930 and 1933. This is aREALprescription, not a photo copy.
Very cool liquor related item that would look great framed in a bar area, liquor cabinet or man cave.
Also great for those who collect pharmacy or medical collectibles.
