Offering up my vintage Late 1940- 1950’s, English Slim Billiard - Sasieni OLD ENGLAND - elegant & elongated tapered stem - This pipe is from thegolden era of Sasieni’s secondary lines… Stamped: Sasieni OLD ENGLNAD - S Ltd - London Made - Sasieni senior, passed in 1946, Son, Alfred - took over the company and began emphasizing its identity by stamping factory seconds with "S Ltd" to guarantee production from the London factory. Sasieni’s OLD ENGLAND includes the signature, rustication technique. Unlike deep, chunky gouges seen on other brands, Sasieni artisans used a distinct hand-rustication tool to create a highly detailed, uniform texture of finely crinkled bark,which they then coated in a jet-black stain — Th rim is in great shape for the age of this pipe, The stem logo has been buffed away over time - and smokes great - with an open & clear draw.
Ive reamed the chamber, and cleaned the airways in the shank and stem with 99% alcohol - ready to smoke or continue cleaning to your satisfaction upon receipt.
