Extremely Rare The Automatic Ice Box 4-Door White Enamel , 1890-1920: $1000.00
This unit is an antique porcelain-lined non-electric icebox manufactured by the \"Automatic\" Ice Box Company (indicated by the logo on the top trim). Units featuring this structural layout date from the late 1890s to the 1920s. This unit has all of its original trays shelves and linoleum hardware is in pristine condition. Enamel is in exceptional condition with a few minor flaws on the bottom of the refrigerator which are pictured. The Linoleum Feature: Most iceboxes of this era featured strictly galvanized steel, zinc, or tin liners. Finding an early-1900s model with its specific original linoleum interior lining intact is extremely rare, as damp moisture typically caused them to warp, rot, or get stripped out over the last century. The Location Factor: Because the factory burned down and the Illinois Refrigerator Company went out of business by 1932
