Original U.S. Army III Armored Corps Commanding General challenge coin personally identified to Lieutenant General Thomas A. Schwartz. The obverse features the Phantom Warrior mounted knight, while the reverse displays the III Corps insignia, three-star Lieutenant General command flag, LTG Schwartz’s facsimile signature, and “Presented by Thomas A. Schwartz Commanding General.” Schwartz commanded III Corps and Fort Hood from 1993–1995 before later serving as Commanding General, U.S. Army Forces Command and Commander in Chief, United Nations Command / Combined Forces Command / U.S. Forces Korea.
