This eye-catching, self standing opal collectable was mined September, 2021 on my property in the foothills of the majestic wet mountains, centered in the middle of Colorado's mineral belt. This opal is very sensitive to common light changes making for exciting color changes.
Colors:
In natural light, this specimen is white and yellow with baby blue and soft lavender play of color; the Opalized wood matrix is tan and purple
In sunlight & soft LED light the opal turns different shades of blue and lavender with pink accents ,depending on the angle from which you are viewing,
Direct LED lights it up to an electric blue. It's my favorite!
Incandescent light reflects in colors is soft sea green and electric yellow
LW UV, 365nm reflects varying shades of bright blue hues with striking yellow from The Matrix
LW UV 385 nm provides shades of purple
SW UV creates a bright, electric dark aquamarine color with purplish blue matrix accents
