This is Stephen Young\'s ESPy-onage, from Thought Illusions, the 2012 set of psychic testing cards he built along with Paralabs: Forty cards. Each one carries seven pieces of information. Not a single Zener symbol. A spectator looks at a card. You reveal what they are holding, piece after piece, close-up or on stage, one person or a room.
Stephen Young designed this set of cards to look like it came out of a lab, not a magic shop. The cards are thick stock, 110 by 95 mm, and the backs were printed to legitimize the entire routine.
Stephen Young capped it at 100 as a limited edition, and there was never a reprint. On July 5, 2013, Ewen Wilson posted on Talk Magic that he had bought it as a customer, not a friend, and scored it 9 out of 10. He called it outstandingly clever, first-class cards, and said he had already performed it in restaurants and private parties with great reactions. On October 8, Young replied on that same thread: since Ewen\'s post, every ESPy-onage set was sold out. It has not been available since, until this listing.
NeilS, who saw it before the August 10, 2012 launch, wrote on the Magic Café that Young had taken a standard ESP card to another level, and that the instructions included routines he would use in place of his own ESP set. Ray, posting as Magical Dimensions, said the cards looked like something from a lab, and that the backs were as strong as the faces.
There is nothing written down and absolutely no pre-show work. Because every card holds seven pieces of data, the revelation feels like a genuine display of remote viewing.
Key Points:
- Works perfectly for close-up performances or on stage for a whole theatre.
- Can be performed one-to-one or for larger groups.
- The performer reveals the information without memorising any of the data.
- Does not use cribs, nothing is written down, and there are no confederates.
- The 40 thick cards contain 280 unique pieces of information in total.
You will learn an easy-to-learn system that eliminates memory work entirely. The included extensive PDF instructions teach several full routines utilizing the thick 110 x 95 mm card stock.
