Old Farmers National Bank & Trust Co., Boyertown, PA Memorabilia: $1.00
Here are two items from the Farmers National Bank & Trust Company of Boyertown, Pa. First is a pamphlet on making a will, titled These Are Your Heirs If You Make No Will. A tri-fold pamphlet on what happens if you die without having a will. It was given out by the bank, and is copyrighted by D. D. Staples, but I don't see any date in it. Next is a brown oversized envelope or they call it a wallet, that I guess could have held your deposit when you took it to the bank. It's made of heavy stock paper and has an advertisement for the bank on the front flap. On the inside of the flap, it has printed that it is for daily use as a receptacle for certificates of deposit, checks, bills and other papers of value, along with other printing. Also, on the front under the flap is more about keeping your money and papers in this wallet. On the back there are lines for writing your name and address. The bank's logo was "Just a real good bank." as printed on the back. Says that the bank president was Joseph H. Moyer, D. D. Fisher was Vice-President, C. K. Lefever was another vice-president and Allen R. Moyer was cashier. According to his obituary in the November 28, 1930 Ephrata Review, Ephrata, PA, Joseph H. Moyer was president of the Farmers National Bank & Trust Co. from 1920 to 1927. I found a 1924 newspaper article from the Reading Times which recorded that A. R. Moyer was celebrating his 10th anniversary of his accession to the cashiership of the Farmers National Bank & Trust, stating that he took the job in October of 1914. Guess that might date this wallet to the time period from 1920 to 1927.The pamphlet is in good condition, with some wear from age, no holes or tears. The envelope/wallet has tears in the creases of the flap, there is a hole in the back of it. There are also creases and rough spots on the edges and corners. If you like old photographs and ephemera, please check outmy store and the other old photos and things I have listed.
