Beautiful matching pair of Chinese-style qilin statues with colorful floral enamel decoration and warm brass-toned details.We purchased this pair in 2019. The original seller described them as handmade brass cloisonne Chinese decorative statues shipped from Hong Kong/Taiwan. Their exact metal content and place of manufacture have not been independently verified, so they are being offered as modern decorative pieces—not antiques.Each statue has a vivid turquoise-blue body decorated with red, purple, white, green and yellow flowers and scrolling designs. Their expressive dragon-like heads have open mouths, horns and detailed manes, with coordinating brass-toned feet and curled tails.The qilin is an auspicious creature in Chinese tradition associated with good fortune, prosperity, longevity and protection. Both statues are in good pre-owned condition with surface wear, light scratches, discoloration and small marks from handling and display. Some spotting and finish wear are visible on the brass-toned areas, particularly around the horns and feet. The open mouths show dark gray discoloration/finish wear inside. The enamel has minor variations and imperfections.
