For sale is a gorgeous, matching pair of vintage 1978 Chinese watercolor/tempera paintings hand-painted on silk. These pieces showcase a classic "Bird and Flower" (Huaniao) motif with delicate brushwork depicting seasonal botanical scenes, blossoms, songbirds, and butterflies.
Both paintings feature beautiful calligraphic inscriptions that officially date the works to the traditional "Wuwu" year (1978) and are signed by separate studio artists with their official red name seals.
Inscription Details:
1. Painting 1 (Summer Scene): Inscribed "戊午夏日柳江作" — Painted by Liu Jiang on a summer day in the Wuwu year (1978). Features a red artist seal.
2. Painting 2 (Winter Scene): Inscribed "戊午冬日卓吾寫" — Painted by Zhuowu on a winter day in the Wuwu year (1978). Features a red artist seal.
