Beautiful Chinese Famille Rose porcelain jardinière/cachepot richly decorated in colorful polychrome enamels with gilt accents.The exterior features alternating traditional court-figure and bird-and-floral scenes, surrounded by peonies, butterflies, foliage and decorative motifs. Intricate floral and geometric borders complete the richly detailed design.A particularly appealing feature of this piece is its smaller, display-friendly size combined with a decorated interior. Smaller Famille Rose cachepots with fish decoration inside can be more difficult to find than the larger fishbowl-style jardinieres more commonly seen. The interior features charming iron-red fish with aquatic foliage, making the piece equally attractive displayed empty or used as a cachepot.The underside bears a six-character Qianlong-style iron-red mark. This is considered an apocryphal/revival-style mark, and the piece is not being represented as an 18th-century Qianlong-period example.Dimensions:

Very good pre-owned condition with no chips or cracks to note. The interior shows visible water/mineral staining and rings consistent with previous use as a planter.
