This Stanwell Rhodesian #406 was in less than desirable condition when I purchased it. The finish was shot and the ring around the bowl was chipped up and pieces were missing. What\'s a poor boy to do? I decided to experiment and I decided that I can\'t really ruin it, and maybe I can turn this pipe into an idea that might make or break it. I decided to chip out the whole ring with a small chisel. I then sanded the area where the ring once was.then I redyed the pipe with a beautiful mahogany dye, then sanded it again and redyed it again. Except for the \"ring space\". The stem is black so I thought it might be a cool, subtle accident to paint the ring with black acrylic paint. And the results, that\'s up to you! I like it but I\'m partial! The overall condition of the pipe and the functionality is great too after a good cleaning with alcohol and pipe cleaners. It\'s not perfect, but neither am I! Thank you for looking at my pipes! I\'m donating 10% of this pipe sale to the American National Red Cross ❌️!
