RARE TTO Anomaly/Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed Safety Razor/1955 A3 For Sale

Sorry folks, but I’m charging a little more for this particular model. Frankly, I’ve never seen one like this. When I asked Google if Gillette ever made a Flare Tip Super Speed with one horizontal rib connecting with two vertical ribs to form the letter “H”, the answer was a definitive no.

A reputable source in the industry informed me that there was a machine that pulled the brass back to make the grooves in thin slices. As this happened the brass would sometimes roll into a ball, and after stripping, they would be simply pryed out. So it’s a production mistake. Still a good collector’s and conversation piece.

A cloudy top cap shine with faint smudges and subtle blemishes. The end caps, guard bars, blade tray, and baseplate are in good shape with light smudges and blemishes. Faint brass tinting on one guard bar, and one the baseplate near the lather slots and channels. The handle is in good condition with light blemishes on the neck and TTO knob, and faint brass tinting on the knurling. The butterfly doors and TTO knob function properly and smoothly, and it has been cleaned and sanitized.
