Vintage RPPC – Group Portrait on a Steam Locomotive Real photo postcard of eight young men and women posed on the front of a steam locomotive. One man stands against the big round, heavily bolted smokebox door, his arms stretched out to hold the hands of two women on either side. A pair of marker lamps flanks the smokebox. The rest of the group crowds onto the pilot and track in front, arm in arm. The men wear shirtsleeves, bow ties or neckties, and hats, and the women wear white and light-colored dresses with bead necklaces. A second set of tracks runs off to the right past a wooded hillside. Unposted, with a blank back. AZO real photo back with upward triangles at the top and downward triangles at the bottom of the stamp box, a style used circa 1918–1930. A great piece for collectors of railroad and steam locomotive photography, 1910s–1920s fashion, or candid group real photo postcards.
