Rare 18thC Lead Pewter Miniature Toy Porringer Plate Crown Royal Commemorative: $49.99
Up for sale is a fascinating, authentic 18th-century (circa 1700–1760) miniature toy porringer plate made of a heavy, pliable lead-pewter alloy. This is not a modern reproduction; it is a genuine early historical find with a striking white-gray oxidized patina.A close look near the top handle reveals a cast crown emblem, indicating this was likely a royal commemorative souvenir or toy produced to celebrate a British monarch—most likely Queen Anne (1702–1714) or King George I/II (1714–1760). The center features a raised dotted ring enclosing a circular geometric motif typical of the period.Item Condition:Authentic Patina: Features a heavy, chalky white-gray lead-carbonate oxide layer consistent with centuries of age.Damage: There is a visible break/missing piece running through the right side near the crown emblem and handle, along with historical warping/bending.Material: Non-magnetic and highly pliable (soft lead/pewter alloy). It should not be bent or straightened, as old lead alloy is brittle underneath and will break.Measurements:Diameter: Just under 2 inches (approx. 50mm)This is an incredible survivor and a perfect addition for collectors of post-medieval metal detecting finds, mudlarking treasures, early dollhouse miniatures, or rare royal memorabilia. Please review all photos carefully to assess the condition before offerding. Will be packaged with extreme care to prevent any further bending or damage during transit.
