This belt belonged to my grandmother\'s family who left Russia in 1917. Rare Imperial Russian Cossack belt with intricate Niello work. Dimensioins: 28\" length x 1 1/4\" wide.Missing 6-8 silver connectors. The buckle features a central Cyrillic inscription
\"KAB3\", a recognized abbreviation of \"Кавказ\" (Caucasus), indicating Caucasian production or style, typical of regional goldsmithing integrated into the Tsarist Empire. Rich nielloed floral decoration, finely chased work, in the great tradition of the Caucasian workshops (Tbilisi and neighboring regions). Presence of the Caucasian maker\'s mark and the Imperial title 84, guaranteeing official manufacture prior to the Russian Revolution.
These buckles were intended for ceremonial civilian belts, worn during important ceremonies or occasions, and today constitute an emblematic testament to Tsarist White Russia, before the fall of the Empire.
