Rare Leuco-Grossular Garnet (Thumbnail) - Sierra de Cruces, MX - ex. Kohnen: $16.00
An authentic, highly collectible calcium-aluminum garnet specimen featuring a pristine, sharp crystal of translucent white-to-colorless Leuco-Grossular Garnet from Sierra de Cruces, Coahuila, Mexico. This specimen features verified collection pedigree, formerly residing in the collection of Thomas Kohnen (ex. Thomas Kohnen Collection).
Sierra de Cruces is internationally famous among systematic mineralogists for producing North America's premier white grossular garnets. This specimen is a completely formed rhombic dodecahedron with sharp edge definition, glassy surface luster, and high optical translucency across its faces. The crisp, geometric growth and lack of matrix attachment make it an ideal thumbnail example of the rare colorless garnet end-member.
An essential acquisition for garnet species suite collectors, Mexican locality specialists, or thumbnail cabinets seeking collection pedigree. You will receive the exact specimen pictured.
